In January 2008, Memorial Medical Center and bariatric surgeons Patrick Coates, MD, and Antonio Coirin, MD, received Bariatric Center of Excellence designation by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). The ASMBS examines all aspects of a program’s surgical processes before awarding a Center of Excellence designation based on top quality care and effective outcomes.
