The Tree of Life Program
An oak tree has been part of Memorial Hospital Foundation's logo since its beginning. Today, a unique and beautiful sculpture, the Tree of Life, is on permanent display in the lobby of Memorial Medical Center as a tribute to our donors. Each leaf on the tree features the name of a contributor to the Foundation, reminding us of the vital part that donors play in helping Memorial provide quality health care services. The quote on the plaque below the Tree of Life reads, "The future is purchased by the present," emphasizing that gifts given today provide for the health care needs of tomorrow.
Cumulative giving of $1,000 qualifies a donor for a leaf on the Tree of Life. Acorn symbols are attached to singular leaves and recognize larger gifts of donors and friends of Memorial (cumulative giving of $5,000, $10,000, and $15,000 attach up to three acorns). Still larger gifts of $20,000 or more are permanently recognized on the stones at the base of the tree.
